Early education Initiative
SSEF is committed to connecting families with local preschools and early-childhood resources in their communities.
Whether researching local programming in libraries, schools, churches, and community centers, assisting with enrollment applications, or providing scholarships to make preschool more accessible, SSEF strives to support families in giving their kids a strong start. With the goal of enrolling as many 4-year-olds as possible in high-quality preschool, SSEF’s Scholarship Fund helps families afford programs in towns where free preschool is not available. Current best practices support early-childhood enrichment: it can launch children and their young parents on a path to future success from the beginning.
Mass 211 is an important resource for families who want information and assistance with finding and affording childcare and preschool.
Families should apply for preschool vouchers through Mass211, using their online form or by applying over the phone by dialing 2-1-1 and following the prompts.
OUR IMPACT
Since 2018, SSEF has prioritized early childhood development. We help families locate programs and cover 90% of tuition costs (up to $4,000 per child).
We provided over $94,000 in tuition assistance for 32 children to attend preschool.
