SSEF is hiring Part Time Event Staff to support our Napkin Project Sales at festivals and farmers markets.

Shifts begin in March 2024 and will continue throughout the year. Currently most, but not all shifts are on weekends .  We offer a flexible schedule (i.e. take shifts that fit your schedule), and a fun professional work environment.

The reality for immigrant women of color in Massachusetts is extremely difficult with the high cost of living.

"Women of color disproportionately work in jobs within the service, care, and domestic work sectors—jobs with historically low pay. Despite consistently having some of the highest labor force participation rates, they experience wide pay gaps. Multiracial Black women earned just 63 cents for every $1 earned by white, non-Hispanic men in 2020."

South Sudanese adults are interested in extra income opportunities that are flexible and family friendly. In Fall 2022, SSEF provided sewing machines and fabric to hard-working mothers who are looking for additional income-earning-work while at home. They were given sewing lessons and beautiful African print fabrics for making cloth napkins. When parents are home from their day jobs and children are home from school, parents may supplement their income with sewing napkins.
