Celebrating One Mother's Achievements
Progress was made with an infusion of SSEF care and resources. We wanted to highlight a hard-working mother's plight and the progress achieved with the support and mentorship from dedicated SSEF volunteers and staff.
An unsafe housing situation in the midst of rising rents and limited inventory left this family facing eviction and homelessness since the mother's low credit score meant no place to move. SSEF and volunteers were able to assist in this emergency once the mother was able to find a co-signer for a new apartment.
Accessing available resources took a great deal of energy, but led to success in many ways:
Scholarship for full-day camp program for 9 weeks of summer!
Full scholarship for Catholic School tuition
Enlisting aid to procure donations and help for furnishing the new home
Replacing an unrepairable car and procuring a used car
