Learn English at The Immigrant Learning Center in Malden

The Immigrant Learning Center offers free English classes to immigrants and refugees age 16 and older. All classes are taught in English with instruction in speaking, reading, writing, listening, grammar and computer skills.

Morning classes meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon classes meet Monday through Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Immigrant Learning Center also offers:

  • Literacy classes (emphasis on reading and writing)
  • Senior conversation class (age 60 and older)
  • U.S. citizenship preparation classes
  • Entrepreneurship class (for those wanting to start a business)   
  • Counseling for next steps: skills training, jobs, college and career readiness

How to Apply:

Applicants must register at The Immigrant Learning Center in person at:
442 Main Street, Malden, MA.

Registration occurs
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

You may bring a translator with you.

The ILC accepts applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, disability or other eligibility restrictions.
